About Repair PDF
Repair PDF opens a damaged or malformed PDF with a tolerant parser and writes a clean new copy. It can fix files with a broken cross-reference table or similar structural errors that make some viewers refuse to open them. It can't rebuild data that's actually missing.
When it helps
- Fixing a PDF that opens in one viewer but shows an error in another
- Re-saving a file from an older or buggy generator so upload portals accept it
- Rescuing a document after an interrupted download, when the damage is limited
Tips
- If the tool reports that it can't read the file, the damage is beyond what a browser-based rewrite can handle. Try re-downloading or re-exporting the PDF from its source.
- Password-protected PDFs can't be repaired here. Remove the password first.
- Open the result and scroll through every page. Pages whose content was lost in the corruption may come out blank.
