About DOCX to HTML
DOCX to HTML converts a Word document into clean, semantic HTML. Headings styled as Heading 1, 2 and so on become h1 and h2 tags, and bold, italics, lists, tables and links are carried over as markup. Visual details such as fonts, colors and exact spacing are intentionally left out, so the HTML is easy to drop into a website or CMS.
When it helps
- Publishing a blog post written in Word without pasting in messy inline styles
- Moving documentation from Word into a knowledge base or static site
- Getting markup for an email newsletter drafted in Word
Tips
- Structure depends on Word styles. Text that was just made big and bold, rather than styled as a heading, comes out as a normal paragraph.
- Images are embedded directly inside the HTML file as data, which can make it large. You may want to extract and host them separately.
- Headers, footers, comments and page layout don't map to HTML and aren't included.
