About Pack ZIP
Bundle one or more files of any type into a single ZIP archive. Each file is compressed with Deflate, the method every operating system can open without extra software, so the ZIP can be sent to anyone on Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS or Android. It is the simplest way to send many files as one attachment.
When it helps
- Attaching a batch of photos, invoices or documents to an email as a single file.
- Uploading many files to a form or portal that accepts only one upload.
- Packaging assets such as fonts, icons or exported images to hand off to a client or teammate.
- Keeping a set of related files together for backup or archiving.
Tips
- Text, CSV, JSON, code and uncompressed images like BMP shrink a lot in a ZIP. Files that are already compressed (JPG, MP4, MP3, PDF, DOCX) barely shrink, so the ZIP mainly bundles them.
- Everything is compressed in memory, so very large selections (several gigabytes) can exceed what the browser allows. Split huge sets into several ZIPs.
- If two selected files have the same name, only one can be stored at that path. Rename duplicates before packing.

Formats like JPG, MP4 and PDF are already compressed internally, so Deflate cannot find much more to remove. ZIP still helps by turning many files into one.
