About WEBP to JPG
Turn WebP images into JPEGs for maximum compatibility. WebP is common on modern websites, but plenty of photo viewers, print services, social schedulers and upload forms still expect .jpg. You can set the JPEG quality and pick a background color for any transparent areas.
When it helps
- Converting product or stock images downloaded as WebP so a print shop or marketplace accepts them.
- Making web images open in older Windows Photo Viewer, Office or email clients.
- Sending images to people whose phones or apps don't preview WebP attachments.
Tips
- WebP is often already lossy, so converting to JPG compresses it a second time. Keep quality around 85-92% to avoid visible artifacts.
- Transparent WebP stickers and logos get flattened onto the background color, white by default. Use WebP to PNG instead if you need the transparency.
- The JPG may come out larger than the WebP even at the same visual quality. That's normal, since WebP compresses more efficiently.
