About SVG to PNG
SVG is a vector format described in XML, which is great for scaling but not accepted everywhere. Social networks, chat apps, office documents and many upload forms want a raster image instead. This tool renders an SVG with your browser's own engine and saves the result as a PNG, keeping transparent backgrounds transparent.
When it helps
- Turning an SVG logo into a PNG for a slide deck, email signature or social profile.
- Exporting an icon from a design system as a PNG for an app store listing or document.
- Creating a raster preview of vector artwork for people who can't open SVG files.
Tips
- The PNG is rendered at the size defined in the SVG's width and height (or viewBox). The Max dimensions setting can only make it smaller, so edit those attributes in the SVG if you need a larger PNG.
- Leave the background on transparent for logos and icons. Fill it with a color if the PNG will be placed somewhere that renders transparency badly.
- SVGs that load external fonts or images may render differently, because the browser draws the file in isolation. Convert text to outlines first for a reliable result.
Good to know
Quick answers about svg to png in your browser.
Increase the width and height attributes on the root <svg> element before converting. Because it's vector, it re-renders sharply at the larger size.
Yes. Any area the SVG doesn't paint stays transparent in the PNG unless you choose to fill the background with a color.
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many files you process.
No. Files are read and processed locally in your browser, so they never leave your device.
