About Image to BMP
BMP is the native Windows bitmap format: simple, uncompressed and readable by almost any program, including very old software and embedded devices. This tool converts PNG, JPG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF, SVG and other images into a 24-bit or 32-bit BMP.
When it helps
- Supplying images to legacy Windows software, industrial machines or microcontroller projects that only read BMP.
- Preparing images for tools that need raw, uncompressed pixel data.
- Converting HEIC or WebP files for very old image viewers.
Tips
- 24-bit is the most compatible choice. Transparent areas are filled with the background color you pick.
- 32-bit keeps transparency, but some older programs ignore or mishandle the alpha channel in BMP files.
- BMP is uncompressed, so files are large, usually much larger than the PNG or JPG they came from.
Good to know

Yes, with the 32-bit option, which adds an alpha channel. Support for it varies between programs, so test in your target software.
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many files you process.
No. Files are read and processed locally in your browser, so they never leave your device.
