About Add PDF Margins
Add PDF Margins puts white space around the edges of pages by enlarging the page itself. The content isn't scaled at all, so nothing gets smaller. It's useful when text sits too close to the edge for binding, note-taking or printers that can't print to the edge.
When it helps
- Making room on the left for hole-punching or ring binding
- Adding writing space around a paper you need to annotate by hand
- Preventing a printer from clipping content printed right to the page edge
Tips
- Because pages grow, an A4 page with 12 mm margins is no longer A4. Most printers will then scale it down to fit. If you need to stay on A4, use Resize PDF Pages with a margin instead.
- The margin is added equally on all four sides. The default 12 mm is a sensible minimum for most home printers.
- Use the Pages field (for example 1-3, 5, 8-) to add margins to only some pages.
