About PDF Info
PDF Info inspects a PDF and gives you a plain-text report: file size, page count, whether it's encrypted, metadata fields, the fonts it uses, the number of image objects, annotations and form fields, and every page's size in points and millimeters with the paper name. It's a quick way to understand a file before you edit, print or submit it.
When it helps
- Checking whether a document is really A4 or US Letter before printing or submitting it
- Seeing what author and software details a PDF will reveal before you share it
- Finding out whether a PDF has fillable form fields or contains only scanned images
- Confirming which fonts a print shop's preflight might complain about
Tips
- A PDF with no fonts listed and one image per page is almost certainly a scan, so text extraction tools won't find any text in it.
- Pages of the same size are grouped together in the report, so mixed-size documents stand out immediately.
- Font names are shown without the random six-letter prefix that marks a subset font.
