About Crop PDF
Crop PDF trims the visible area of pages by the margins you enter for the top, right, bottom and left. It sets the page's crop box, which is what viewers and printers display, so the content you keep stays vector-sharp and selectable.
When it helps
- Removing wide white margins from academic papers so they're easier to read on a tablet
- Cutting printer marks or scanner borders off pages
- Focusing on one area of a page, such as a chart, before exporting it as an image
Tips
- Values are in PDF points, and 72 points equal one inch (about 28 points per centimeter). On an A4 page, 36 points trims half an inch.
- Cropping hides content outside the box but doesn't delete it from the file. Don't rely on cropping to remove sensitive information.
- Crop margins larger than the page are rejected. Pages of different sizes all get the same margins, so check mixed documents.
