About Remove Blank Pages
Remove Blank Pages finds and deletes empty pages automatically by measuring how much 'ink' each page contains. It's designed for scanned documents, where duplex scanning leaves a blank back for every one-sided sheet. The pages you keep are copied unchanged, and the summary lists which page numbers were removed.
When it helps
- Cleaning up duplex scans of mostly one-sided paperwork
- Removing separator pages inserted between documents during batch scanning
- Tidying exported PDFs that contain blank pages left by page breaks
Tips
- Scanned 'blank' pages often have specks, dust or show-through from the other side. If they aren't detected, raise 'Max ink to count as blank' a little at a time.
- Pages that contain any real text are kept by default. Turn on the invisible/tiny text option only if blank pages still carry hidden text, such as an OCR layer or white text.
- Check the list of removed pages in the result. If a page with a light stamp or signature disappeared, lower the threshold and run it again.

Lower the ink threshold and run it again on the original file. Very faint pages, like a light pencil note, can fall under a high threshold.
