About Markdown to PDF
Markdown to PDF typesets a .md file into a clean PDF with real formatting: headings, bold and italic, nested and task lists, block quotes, fenced code blocks, tables and horizontal rules. You choose the paper size, font family, body text size and margins. The text stays selectable and searchable.
When it helps
- Turning a README, spec or meeting notes written in Markdown into a shareable PDF
- Producing printable documentation without a word processor
- Submitting assignments or reports drafted in a Markdown editor
Tips
- Images are not embedded. Each one appears as an [image: ...] placeholder with its alt text. Links are styled in blue but are not clickable, and the URL itself isn't printed, so write out addresses readers need.
- Fonts are the standard PDF set (Helvetica, Times, Courier), which cover Western European characters. Other scripts and emoji appear as question marks.
- Tables are printed row by row with cells separated by vertical bars, not as an aligned grid, so they read best with a few short columns.
