About Markdown to HTML

Convert Markdown into HTML you can paste into a CMS, email template or web page. Headings, emphasis, links, images, lists, blockquotes and code blocks are converted, and with GitHub-flavored Markdown on you also get tables, task lists and strikethrough. You can output a fragment or a complete HTML page.

When it helps

  • Publishing a README or notes written in Markdown on a site that only accepts HTML.
  • Converting documentation or a blog draft from Obsidian, Notion exports or a Git repository.
  • Producing HTML for an email newsletter written in Markdown.
  • Checking how a Markdown file will be structured as HTML.

Tips

  • 'Wrap in a full HTML page' adds a doctype, charset, viewport and a title taken from the first # heading, so the file opens correctly on its own in a browser.
  • Single line breaks are ignored by standard Markdown. Turn on 'Treat single line breaks as <br>' if your text relies on them, like GitHub comments do.
  • Raw HTML in your Markdown is passed through unchanged and is not sanitized. Do not publish converted Markdown from untrusted sources without cleaning it.
  • The output has no CSS, so tables and code blocks take on your site's styles.
