About Fancy Text Generator

Turn plain letters into styled versions such as bold, italic, script, gothic (fraktur), double-struck, monospace, circled, squared, small caps, fullwidth, upside-down, strikethrough and underline. These are not fonts: each letter is swapped for a different Unicode character that happens to look styled, which is why the result still looks styled after you paste it into a bio, username or post.

When it helps

  • Adding bold or italic emphasis on platforms with no formatting, such as Instagram bios and some chat apps.
  • Making a name or heading stand out in a social profile or game nickname.
  • Writing upside-down or struck-through text for jokes and memes.
  • Creating decorative headings for plain-text documents.

Tips

  • Only basic Latin letters A to Z are converted, plus digits in some styles. Accented letters, punctuation and other alphabets are left unchanged.
  • Small caps only changes lowercase letters, and squared turns every letter into a capital.
  • Screen readers often read styled characters as their Unicode names or skip them, so avoid fancy text for important information or whole sentences.
  • Search engines and in-app search usually treat these characters as different from normal letters, so your styled name may not show up in searches.

Good to know

Quick answers about fancy text generator in your browser.

The device viewing the text has no font that contains those Unicode characters. Older phones and some apps lack the mathematical alphanumeric symbols used for bold, script and double-struck styles. Circled and fullwidth styles are more widely supported.

Not very. Assistive technology may read each letter as something like 'mathematical bold capital A', or not at all. Use it for short decorative touches and keep names, links and instructions in plain text.
