About Morse Code to Text
Decode International Morse code into plain text. Write letters as dots and dashes separated by spaces, and separate words with a slash, a pipe or three or more spaces. Variations such as bullet dots, en or em dashes and underscores used as dashes are accepted too.
When it helps
- Decoding a Morse message from a puzzle, geocache or escape room clue.
- Checking your answers while learning Morse code.
- Reading Morse written on jewellery, artwork or in a film or game.
- Turning a written transcript of a received radio signal into text.
Tips
- Separate letters with a space. Spacing changes the meaning: '...' is S, while '. . .' is EEE. Three or more spaces in a row are read as a break between words.
- Codes that do not match any character appear as in the output, and the summary counts them, so you can find typos.
- The output is in capital letters, since Morse has no case.
