About Extract Emails

Pull every email address out of a block of text, an HTML page, a CSV export or an email thread. The result is a clean list with one address per line, with duplicates removed and addresses lowercased by default, so it's ready to paste into a spreadsheet or mailing tool.

When it helps

  • Collecting addresses from an email thread's headers or a forwarded message.
  • Pulling contacts out of a messy CSV or an exported document where they sit among other data.
  • Getting addresses from a web page's HTML source, such as a staff directory.
  • Checking which addresses appear in a log file.

Tips

  • Duplicates are matched ignoring case, so 'Ann@Example.com' and 'ann@example.com' count as one address.
  • Addresses written to avoid scrapers, like 'name at example dot com', are not detected. Only real addresses with an @ and a domain are found.
  • Internationalized addresses with non-English letters are supported.
  • Getting an address out of text does not mean it is still active or that you have permission to email it. Anti-spam laws such as GDPR and CAN-SPAM still apply.
