About Change Video Frame Rate
This tool converts a video to a different frame rate: 12, 15, 24, 25, 30, 50 or 60 fps. It is mainly used to match clips to a project's frame rate, reduce file size, or meet the requirements of a platform or broadcast standard.
When it helps
- Matching a 60 fps phone clip to a 30 fps or 24 fps editing timeline.
- Converting footage between 25 fps (PAL regions) and 30 fps (NTSC regions).
- Lowering a screen recording to 15 fps to make it smaller when motion is minimal.
- Creating a deliberately choppy, stop-motion look at 12 fps.
Tips
- Lowering the frame rate drops frames; raising it repeats existing ones. Going from 30 to 60 fps does not make motion smoother, because no new in-between frames are created.
- The playback speed and duration stay the same, and the audio is kept in sync.
- For a cinematic look, 24 fps is the film standard. For gameplay and fast action, keep 50 or 60 fps if the source has it.

Quick answers about change video frame rate in your browser.

Usually, yes, because fewer frames are encoded. The saving is biggest on videos with a lot of motion.

No. Files are read and processed locally in your browser, so they never leave your device.
Runs in WebAssembly: large files are slow and must stay under 2GB.
