About Video Filters & Effects
Apply one visual effect to a whole video: black and white, sepia, vintage, invert, blur, sharpen, vignette, denoise, mirror or edge detection. The audio is kept and the filtered result is saved as an H.264 MP4.
When it helps
- Giving a clip a warm sepia or vintage look for a throwback or memorial video.
- Cleaning up grainy low-light phone footage with the denoise filter.
- Adding a vignette to draw attention to the centre of the frame.
- Making an abstract or music-video look with invert or edge detection.
Tips
- The strength slider only affects blur, sharpen and denoise. The other effects have a fixed look.
- Keep sharpen low (around 4 to 8); high values exaggerate noise and compression artifacts.
- Mirror takes the left half of the frame and reflects it onto the right, which suits symmetrical or kaleidoscope-style shots.
- Denoise works best on mild grain. Strong settings smear fine detail such as hair and foliage.
