About Echo & Reverb

Add space or repeats to a dry recording with presets ranging from a short slap echo to small room, concert hall and stadium reflections, plus a robot effect built from very short echoes. The effect is built from FFmpeg's echo filter with tuned delay patterns.

When it helps

  • Making a dry vocal or instrument recorded in a closet sound like it's in a larger space
  • Adding a dramatic echo to a voice line for a video or game
  • Creating a robotic voice for a character or meme
  • Giving a podcast intro or sound effect a sense of scale

Tips

  • Small room is the subtlest and works on spoken word; Concert hall and Stadium are best on music or for deliberate effect.
  • Echo and Long echo produce distinct repeats rather than a wash, which suits shouts and single words.
  • Effects can't be removed later, so keep your original file. Choose WAV or FLAC output if you'll edit further.

Quick answers about echo & reverb in your browser.

Echo is a clearly audible repeat of the sound after a delay. Reverb is many reflections blended together, giving a sense of the room. The Echo presets give repeats; Room, Hall and Stadium give reverb-like space.

Pick the Robot preset. It uses very short, strong echoes that give speech a metallic, comb-filtered tone.
