About Image to GIF
Combine several still images (PNG, JPG, WebP, BMP, SVG or HEIC) into an animated GIF, with each image becoming one frame. It works as a simple slideshow or stop-motion maker. A single image also works if you just need a still GIF.
When it helps
- Making a before-and-after comparison that flips between two photos.
- Building a stop-motion animation or flipbook from a sequence of photos.
- Creating a simple rotating banner or slideshow from product shots.
- Converting a set of exported frames from a drawing app into a playable animation.
Tips
- The first image sets the canvas size. Later images with different proportions are scaled to fit and centred on a solid background, so crop your images to the same aspect ratio first for a clean result.
- The frame rate slider (6 to 24 fps) sets how long each image stays on screen. For a slideshow, use the lowest setting; for stop-motion, try 8 to 12 fps.
- Use the max width and height fields to shrink large photos. A GIF built from full-resolution phone photos will be very large.
- Each frame gets its own 256-colour palette, so photos keep reasonable colour, but smooth gradients may still show dithering.
