About Transpose CSV
Transposing swaps rows and columns, so the first row becomes the first column and the reverse. This tool does that for a whole CSV in one step, the same as Paste Special > Transpose in a spreadsheet but without opening one. It helps when data was recorded sideways, such as dates across the top instead of down the side.
When it helps
- Turning a wide table with one column per month into a long one with one row per month for charting.
- Flipping a single-record export, with field names down column A, into a normal header and data row.
- Rotating survey or sensor data so each observation is a row before importing it into a database.
Tips
- There are no settings. The header row isn't treated specially, so it becomes the first column of the output.
- Rows of different lengths are padded with empty cells, so the result is always a full rectangle.
- The original delimiter is kept, so a semicolon-separated file stays semicolon-separated.

Quick answers about transpose csv in your browser.
Not quite. Transposing only rotates the grid. A pivot table also groups and summarizes values. If you just need columns to become rows, transposing is enough.
Yes. Many programs limit the number of columns, and Excel stops at 16,384, but this tool has no fixed limit. Keep in mind that a very tall CSV becomes a very wide file after transposing.
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many files you process.
No. Files are read and processed locally in your browser, so they never leave your device.
