About Select CSV Columns
This tool trims a CSV down to the columns you need. You list columns by header name or number, and the tool either keeps them in the order you typed or removes them and keeps everything else. It suits wide exports from CRMs, analytics tools and databases that have dozens of fields you don't need.
When it helps
- Removing personal fields like phone numbers or addresses before sharing a dataset.
- Keeping only name and email from a full CRM export for a mailing tool.
- Rearranging columns to match the order an import template requires.
Tips
- Mix names and numbers, and use ranges for runs of columns, for example: name, email, 5-8.
- In "Keep" mode the output follows the order you typed, so the tool also works for reordering columns.
- Header names are matched exactly first, then without regard to case or surrounding spaces. If a name isn't found, the error lists the available headers.
- Turn off "First row is a header" for files without headers, and refer to columns by number.
